Moldova Vision is an Irish not-for-profit organisation that supports the development of community based services in Moldova, with a special interest in reducing the number of people in institutions. We are delighted to be able to update you on news and developments within the organisation over the last two months.
Updates from Cosnita Community Centre
The first large scale project that MV is funding is a new community centre in Cosnita, which will offer services for children with disabilities, young people and older people from the area. Frances Haworth, MV Director, travelled to Moldova in March to visit the project. A Board of Directors has now been elected from the village to help guide the development of the Centre. A name has also been chosen for the new centre - Scînteia, meaning 'sparkle'. The new centre is scheduled to open in September. For further updates and new photos from Cosnita, please click here...
New Staff in Moldova
MV is delighted to announce that we now have two part-time dedicated staff members in Moldova to work on the Cosnita project: an Accounts Consultant and Elena Covalciuc, Communications Officer. Previous to this, we relied entirely on time donated by Casa Sperantei staff in Cosnita to manage the project on the ground. Galina and her team have put in a huge amount of work into the project over the last year. The MV team in Moldova are now working to support Galina Codreanu, her staff and the newly elected Board of Directors in developing the new centre.
Publications and Communications
Moldova Vision has a new information leaflet - generously sponsored by WoodPrintCraft. In keeping with our commitment to publish all information in both English and Romanian, we now have an Romanian language newsletter. MV also had an article published in CONTACT newsletter earlier this month. CONTACT offers resources and training to NGOs working in Moldova. The MV website is in the process of being translated and will be fully bi-lingual by the end of May. Many thanks to our Communications Officer, Elena, for all her work in this area.

Resources online
We are continually updating our online resource section on the MV website click here for more. Our aim is to bring together a comprehensive selection of resources about Moldova and links to relevant sites. Please feel free to email us at info@moldovavision.org with suggestions for more materials.

MV is currently fundraising for the Cosnita Centre. Funds for construction have been secured but more needs to be raised to cover the running costs of the Centre. Every little helps!
