We are delighted to be
able to update you on news and developments within the organisation over the
last year. We would like to extend a huge Thank You to all our
friends and supporters who have helped out and donated time, money and
expertise while the organisation has been getting off the ground. We will
circulate a newsletter every 2 months from now on.
Gerry joins the Board
MV welcomes Gerry Loughrey, Corporate Responsibility Manager at Irish Life
& Permanent, on to the Board of Directors. Gerry brings a wealth of project
management and financial experience to the role and has been kept busy! Thanks

New website & logo www.moldovavision.org
We have been working on a
new website and logo over the last few months in and finally finished the
website last week. Our logo incorporates the three colours of the Moldovan flag
and represents our key values of partnership and flexibility. Information and
updates on MV projects are available on the website which will be updated
regularly. Make sure to check it out! Thanks to the team at Cobweb for all their hard work.
Cosnita Community
Centre project
MV is currently involved
in the development of a new Community Centre in Cosnita village which is
located about 30km north of Chisinau. The Centre is the result of a partnership
between the local authorities, schools and existing social services. MV is funding
the construction of a modern building which will provide community led services
for children, young people and older people in the area. Construction began in
September and stopped for the winter months as bad weather delayed the build.
Building work has re-started in February and the new Centre will be completed
in June. Following that the Centre will be kitted out and
open for business by the end of the summer. Mary & Trish are
visiting the site in March to check on progress, attend a community meeting
about the centre and to liaise with Corina Cepoi who is project managing the build. For more details of the

New 3 year plan
developed
MV has finished the
development of a new 3 year plan which includes the completion of Cosnita
Community Centre and establishing a Resource Centre in Chisinau. The new
Resource Centre will provide a unique combination of services to the voluntary
and NGO sector including governance training, small capital grant scheme for
equipment, renovations, IT development and communications and a volunteer
placement service for community groups.

thanks to all those who have made donations to MV over the past year. Our new online donation service through MyCharity.ie means that credit or laser card donations can
be made securely online. Standing orders can also be set up for a fixed amount

5,000 euro awarded to
Pro-Familia Centre
In November 2007 Moldova
Vision awarded 5,000 euro towards the running costs of the Pro-Familia Centre in Chisinau for a 4 month period. The Pro-Familia Centre has ongoing financial support from other sources
but had a 4 month shortfall, whereby the Centre would have closed unless
funding was made available. The Pro-Familia Centre is
one of only two early intervention centres in
