About Moldova Vision

History of Moldova Vision

Moldova Vision was started by Irish volunteers who met in Moldova in 2003 whilst working at an orphanage for children with disabilities. Many trips and several years later, we decided to set up an organisation to support Moldovan people working to tackle social problems from the ground up. Rather than impose a foreign ‘solution’ to social problems we want to encourage and support innovative Moldovan approaches to enriching community life. Vision

Our vision is for a Moldova where all rural communities are flourishing.

Mission

To foster social innovation and enterprise in rural communities in Moldova.

Moldova Vision works in partnership with local people, organisations, and authorities to achieve this end. We also work closely with the Moldovan community in Ireland.

Values

Empowerment- We seek to empower individuals and communities to effect change in the world around them.

Participation- We believe that for organisations and communities to thrive they must include the voices of all their members. Moldova Vision seeks to hear a multitude of opinions and include them in its work.

Respect- We believe in the right of each person to have their dignity upheld in their personal and professional life. We will treat all people with dignity and respect.

Openness- We believe in being open and honest with others in all we do.

Equality – We believe that all people are entitled to be treated equally regardless of personal, social or economic status.

Learning – We believe in the spirit of perpetual learning and in the importance of listening and sharing.

Volunteerism – We believe volunteers are intrinsic to our work and support the giving of time and energy for the greater good.

Solidarity- We are proud of uniting Irish and Moldovan people in solidarity for a shared vision for Moldova.
