What we do

Moldova Vision works in three main areas:

1. Supporting Communities in Moldova

Moldova Vision is not a social service provider – we believe that local and community groups know best how to tackle social problems in their own area. Instead, we aim to provide local organisations and people with additional skills and resources to help them provide innovative solutions to social issues. Research shows that community groups in Moldova, particularly in rural areas, are severely under-resourced and in need of support if they are to offer professional and sustainable services.

We offer support in the following ways:

  • Targeted funding for organisations
  • Small grants for social entrepreneurs
  • Capacity building training and expertise

2. Supporting the Moldovan Community in Ireland

It is estimated there are over 10,000 Moldovans living in Ireland. Moldova Vision has been working closely with this community since 2008 to help build the capacity of the group to better advocate for improved services. Many Moldovan migrants face challenges to integration in Ireland, such as poor English language skills and difficulty securing employment that matches their qualifications. In addition, the Moldovan community has much to offer Irish society, including a rich variety of cultural traditions. The Association of the Moldovan Community in Ireland has been working to highlight some of the traditional Moldovan festivals in Ireland - such as Martisor (Festival of Spring). Read more here...

3. Development Education

Moldova Vision is passionate about raising awareness about issues affecting Moldova. Read more here...
